Miya Williams Fayne

Miya Williams Fayne is an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests include digital journalism, race and entertainment. Williams Fayne’s work examines the Black press in the new media age by analyzing production and consumption practices via qualitative methodology. Her professional experience includes seven years in entertainment-related jobs in corporate communications, public relations and magazines, specifically at Disney, BHI PR, Blast, Jet and Ebony magazines. She holds a PhD from Northwestern University in media, technology and society, an MA from Emerson College in publishing and writing and a BA from the University of Southern California in print journalism.
